A Statement from the BAD Football Team:
Today, our semi-final match against Bangla Discipline was scheduled for 2:30 PM. It started raining around 1:30 PM but completely cleared up by 2:20 PM. The BAD Football Team arrived at the field with the full squad, fully prepared and ready to play at the scheduled time. To our surprise, Bangla Discipline refused to play due to the field conditions, even though the field was in a much better condition than other games played in this very tournament. Demonstrating our full commitment to the match, our team proactively helped clear the water from the pitch, directly resolving Bangla Discipline’s objections and ensuring the field was entirely suitable for play. We continued to remain at the field, waited patiently, and expressed our concern to PED. While our players were in the field and ready to go, the opponent players refused to enter the field during the whole scheduled time. Even after asking several times, they refused to enter the field for over 90 minutes.
According to Rules 7 ,8 and 26 of the Bylaws of the Shahid Mir Mugdho Inter-Discipline Football Tournament 2026, our opponents are considered to have conceded a walkover. Furthermore, as stipulated by Rule 9, they are disqualified from participating in next year's football tournament. We urge the concerned authority to take decisive action in strict accordance with the Bylaws of the game we all cherish, love, and gathered to support today.
We are deeply disheartened by our opponents' conduct, which not only showed a blatant disregard for the rules but actively tarnished the competitive spirit of such a beautifully organised tournament. We respect every participating team and the spirit of the tournament. We only expect fairness, transparency, accountability, and equal treatment.
