We have re-coordinated with the Physical Education Department of Khulna University, and they have instructed that the Inter-University Team Selection will be conducted jointly with them.

As a result, the venue and time have been updated:

All participants who have already registered will receive a full refund of the entry fee soon.

From learning chess as a child in Uzbekistan to competing at the highest level, Javokhir Sindarov has taken a steady and disciplined path to the top. At just 20 years old, his journey from prodigy to elite contender has been marked by consistent performances and wins against the world’s best.

He secured his place in the Candidates through strong results — and went on to finish the tournament unbeaten, proving his composure and strength under pressure.

Now, he faces Gukesh Dommaraju for the World Championship title — in what will be the youngest championship match in history.

A new era is about to begin.

We, the Khulna University Chess Club, express our deepest condolences on the passing of our respected university officer, Md. Shirajul Islam(Red Shirt) Sir.

Sir was not only a dedicated member of our university community but also a passionate chess enthusiast who always supported and encouraged the growth of chess at Khulna University. His presence, kindness, and enthusiasm will always be remembered with great respect and gratitude.

We have lost a guiding figure and a well-wisher of our club. His contributions and love for the game will continue to inspire us.

May Allah grant him Jannatul Ferdous and give strength to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
