Electronics and Communication Engineering Discipline, Khulna University

As a component of the Telecommunication Engineering course, the students of the ECE 22 Batch successfully undertook a sessional field visit to Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) in Khulna.

This industrial visit provided valuable practical exposure to telecommunication systems, including traditional (legacy) communication technologies, modern optical fibre-based communication, switching and transmission systems, as well as internet topology and network architecture. The experience offered students a meaningful opportunity to observe real-world applications of telecommunication engineering, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation.

We express our sincere gratitude to the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University for his continuous support and encouragement in facilitating such enriching academic opportunities. We are also deeply thankful to our respected course instructors, Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Alim and Professor Dr. Md. This industrial visit provided valuable practical exposure to radar systems, air defense technologies, and modern communication infrastructures used in military aviation. The experience offered students a unique opportunity to observe real-world applications of radar and communication engineering, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and advanced defense technologies.

পহেলা বৈশাখ ১৪৩৩ উপলক্ষে খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আয়োজিত প্রাণবন্ত বৈশাখী মেলায় ইসিই ডিসিপ্লিনের পক্ষ থেকে “অনুরণন” শিরোনামে একটি আকর্ষণীয় স্টল স্থাপন করা হয়। স্টলটিতে বিভিন্ন সৃজনশীল ও নান্দনিক আয়োজন উপস্থাপন করা হয়, যা শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বতঃস্ফূর্ত অংশগ্রহণে আরও প্রাণবন্ত হয়ে ওঠে।

উক্ত আয়োজনে সম্মানিত শিক্ষকবৃন্দের উপস্থিতি দিনটিকে আরও তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ করে তোলে। তাঁরা শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে মেলায় অংশগ্রহণ করে বৈশাখের উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশ উপভোগ করেন।

সামগ্রিকভাবে, আয়োজনটি ছিল সুশৃঙ্খল, বর্ণিল ও আনন্দঘন, যা বৈশাখের চেতনা ধারণে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখে।

অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সাথে জানানো যাচ্ছে যে, ১৬ এপ্রিল, ২০২৬ তারিখে ইসিই (ECE) ডিসিপ্লিনের ‘Radar and Satellite Field Trip’ (Course Code: 0714 09 ECE 4110) কোর্সের অংশ হিসেবে ৪র্থ বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীরা গাজীপুরে অবস্থিত বাংলাদেশের গর্ব 'বাংলাদেশ স্যাটেলাইট কোম্পানি লিমিটেড' (BSCL)-এর গ্রাউন্ড স্টেশন সফলভাবে পরিদর্শন করবে।

মহাকাশ গবেষণা ও স্যাটেলাইট প্রযুক্তির এই বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতা শিক্ষার্থীদের জ্ঞানকে সমৃদ্ধ করার পাশাপাশি ভবিষ্যতে এই সেক্টরে ক্যারিয়ার গড়ার নতুন সম্ভাবনার দ্বার উন্মোচন করবে বলে আমরা বিশ্বাস করি।

এই শিক্ষা সফরটি অত্যন্ত সুশৃঙ্খল ও সফলভাবে সম্পন্ন করার জন্য আমাদের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় উপাচার্য (ভিসি) মহোদয়ের অসামান্য অবদান ও ঐকান্তিক সহযোগিতা রয়েছে। ইসিই ডিসিপ্লিনের পক্ষ থেকে মাননীয় উপাচার্য ড. মো: রেজাউল করিম স্যারকে জানাই আমাদের বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধা ও অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ।

একইসাথে বিশেষ ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাই আমাদের পরম শ্রদ্ধেয় কোর্স শিক্ষকবৃন্দকে, যাঁদের সার্বক্ষণিক তত্ত্বাবধান ও দিকনির্দেশনায় এই সফর সফল হতে চলেছে।

বাস্তবমুখী এই শিক্ষা কার্যক্রম ইসিই ডিসিপ্লিনের শিক্ষার্থীদের একাডেমিক যাত্রায় এক নতুন মাত্রা যোগ করবে বলে আমরা আশাবাদী। আশাকরি অর্জিত এই জ্ঞান আমাদের ভবিষ্যৎ পথচলায় অনুপ্রেরণা হয়ে থাকবে।

The Headship Hand-over Ceremony of the ECE Discipline, Khulna University was held on 5 March 2026, in the presence of all respected faculty members of the discipline.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Sir formally handed over the responsibilities of Head of the discipline to Prof. S. M. Shamsul Alam,Sir.

The ECE Discipline expresses sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Sir for his dedicated leadership and warmly welcomes Prof. S. M. Shamsul Alam, Sir as the new Head, wishing him continued success in leading the discipline forward.

সাকুরা সায়েন্স এক্সচেঞ্জ প্রোগ্রামে অংশ নিতে জাপান যাচ্ছেন খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইলেক্ট্রনিক্স এন্ড কমিউনিকেশন ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (ইসিই) ডিসিপ্লিনের সাতজন কৃতী শিক্ষার্থী। খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ও জাপানের ইয়ামানাশি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মধ্যে এ বছর মার্চ মাসে স্বাক্ষরিত সমঝোতা স্মারক (এমওইউ) এর আওতায় এই এক্সচেঞ্জ প্রোগ্রামটি বাস্তবায়িত হচ্ছে। দলটির নেতৃত্ব দিচ্ছেন ইসিই ডিসিপ্লিনের প্রফেসর ড. সোহেল মাহমুদ শের।
অংশগ্রহণকারী শিক্ষার্থীরা হলেন- ইসিই ডিসিপ্লিনের মাস্টার্স ’২৫ ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থী মোঃ তৌহিদুল ইসলাম, ইমু খাতুন ও চৈতালী নন্দী এবং ব্যাচেলর ’২২ ব্যাচের শিক্ষার্থী মোঃ সবুজ আলী, অন্তু কুমার গুহ, শাওন ইসলাম ও অমিত বালা।
আগামী ২৬ অক্টোবর থেকে ১ নভেম্বর পর্যন্ত শিক্ষার্থীরা জাপানে অবস্থানকালে ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ইয়ামানাশিতে আয়োজিত এক্সচেঞ্জ প্রোগ্রামের আওতায় ল্যাব ভিজিট, ওয়ার্কশপ, সেমিনার ও বিভিন্ন ইন্ডাস্ট্রি ভিজিটে অংশ নেবেন। আধুনিক প্রযুক্তি, কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা (এআই) ও অপটিক্যাল কমিউনিকেশনের অগ্রগতির পাশাপাশি তারা জাপানের সংস্কৃতি ও শিক্ষাব্যবস্থা সম্পর্কেও প্রত্যক্ষ অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জনের সুযোগ পাবেন।
এদিকে আজ ১৯ অক্টোবর (রবিবার) সকাল ১০টা ৩০ মিনিটে অংশগ্রহণকারী শিক্ষার্থীরা খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উপাচার্য প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ রেজাউল করিম-এর সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেন। এ সময় তারা উপাচার্যকে এক্সচেঞ্জ প্রোগ্রামের কার্যক্রমের বিষয়াদি অবহিত করেন।
শিক্ষার্থীদের অভিনন্দন জানিয়ে উপাচার্য বলেন, তোমরা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিনিধি হিসেবে ইয়ামানাশি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আমাদের ভাবমূর্তি উজ্জ্বল করবে। তিনি ইয়ামানাশি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাথে কার্যক্রম এগিয়ে নেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে ইসিই ডিসিপ্লিনের শিক্ষক প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ শামীম আহসান এর ভূমিকা স্মরণ করেন এবং বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অ্যালামনাই যারা আন্তর্জাতিক গবেষণা প্রতিষ্ঠান ও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাথে যুক্ত রয়েছেন, তাদের এ ধরনের আরও ইন্টারন্যাশনাল কোলাবরেশনের সুযোগ তৈরিতে অগ্রণী ভূমিকা রাখার আহ্বান জানান।
তিনি আরও বলেন, যেসব শিক্ষার্থী এক্সচেঞ্জ প্রোগ্রামে অংশগ্রহণ করছে, তাদের অন্যতম দায়িত্ব হবে উদ্ভাবনী চিন্তাশক্তি কাজে লাগিয়ে ভবিষ্যতের উচ্চশিক্ষা ও গবেষণার সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করা। পাশাপাশি, তিনি ভবিষ্যতে ইয়ামানাশি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বিভিন্ন স্কলারশিপ প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে উচ্চশিক্ষা ও গবেষণার সুযোগ লাভের জন্য শিক্ষার্থীদের উৎসাহিত করেন।
প্রসঙ্গত, এ বছর বিভিন্ন এক্সচেঞ্জ প্রোগ্রামের আওতায় খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সর্বমোট ১০ জন শিক্ষার্থী বিদেশি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে গমনের সুযোগ লাভ করেছেন। শিক্ষার্থীদের এই এক্সচেঞ্জ প্রোগ্রামে অংশগ্রহণ খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আন্তর্জাতিক কোলাবরেশনের ক্ষেত্রকে আরও প্রসারিত করবে বলে উপাচার্য আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন। সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎকালে খুলনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের দি অফিস অব ইন্টারন্যাশনাল অ্যাফেয়ার্সের পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. মোঃ আশিক উর রহমান উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
