Declaration and Pledge
March for Gaza | Dhaka | 2025
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
We begin in the name of Allah,
The Almighty, the Establisher of Justice,
Who stands by the oppressed and determines the fate of the oppressors.
Today, we, the people of Bangladesh—who know the history of oppression and hold the spirit of resistance—have gathered to stand by the fearless people of Gaza. This assembly today is not just a protest; it is our response to history, a pledge, an oath.
From this march and public gathering today, we present our demands on four levels:
Our first demands are to the United Nations and the International Community.
Whereas—the United Nations and the international community express their commitment to protecting the rights of all nations and preventing occupation and genocide;
And—we have witnessed that the bloodshed and destruction occurring daily in Gaza are not the failure of a single government but rather the result of an international failure;
And—this failure is not limited to silence; rather, many Western powers have directly prolonged this genocide by providing the occupying Israel with arms, funds, and diplomatic support;
And—this world order is competing to protect the occupying Israel instead of questioning it;
Therefore—we strongly demand from the United Nations and the international community:
* Ensure the trial of Zionist Israel for genocide in the International Criminal Court;
* Take effective and collective steps to stop the genocide, not just call for a ceasefire;
* Create obligations to return the land to its pre-1967 borders;
* Internationally recognize East Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Palestine;
* Pave the way for the self-determination, security, and state sovereignty of the Palestinian people;
Because—the mask of justice that the world order wears at this moment has fallen in the ruins of Gaza.
Our second demands are to the leaders of the Muslim Ummah.
Whereas—we believe that Palestine is not just a land; it is a part of the Muslim Ummah’s identity;
And—Gaza is now not just a war-torn city; it is a painful reflection of our collective failure;
And—that trust is vested in every member, every state, and every leader of the Ummah—bound by the divine bond of brotherhood and responsibility;
And—Israel is an illegal, occupying, genocidal state that has employed all its might to annihilate the first Qibla of the Muslims and the existence of an entire population;
And—the Hindutva ideology of India has today become a representative of the Zionist project in this region—carrying out systematic oppression and persecution against Muslims;
And—the recent interference in Waqf properties law in India has deprived Muslims of their religious and historical rights—which is a clear warning to the Ummah;
Therefore—we strongly urge the governments of the Muslim world and organizations representing the Muslim Ummah, such as the OIC:
* Immediately sever all economic, military, and diplomatic ties with Israel;
* Impose commercial embargoes and sanctions against the Zionist state;
* Stand by the oppressed people of Gaza with all possible support, including medical, food, housing, and defense assistance;
* Initiate active diplomatic campaigns at the international level to isolate Israel;
* The OIC and Muslim states must strongly protest and take effective diplomatic positions against the state aggression of the Hindutva regime in India, which is depriving Muslims of their rights, especially the interference in Waqf law, as Hindutva is not just a local ideology but one of the main allies of the international Zionist bloc;
Because—before we are ashamed by the flow of blood in Gaza, standing by Gaza is the only path of honor for the Ummah.
And—the leadership that is silent today will be forced to stand in the dock of history tomorrow.
Our third demands are to the Government of Bangladesh.
Whereas—Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country whose independence struggle is rooted in the spirit of resistance against injustice;
And—we believe that on the issue of Palestine, Bangladesh stands on a historic position not only for humanity but also for faith;
And—as a democratic state, it is the government’s responsibility to respect the religious and moral aspirations of the people;
And—the people of Bangladesh have pledged to stand by Gaza, so state silence is a disregard for this public aspiration;
Therefore—we strongly urge the Government of Bangladesh:
* Reinstate the ‘Except Israel’ condition in Bangladeshi passports and express more clearly the position of not recognizing Israel as a state;
* Cancel all agreements the government has with any Israeli institution;
* Take effective measures to send state-sponsored relief and medical aid to Gaza;
* Issue directives in all government institutions and import policies to boycott products of Zionist companies;
* Protest at the state level against the ongoing persecution of Muslims and other minorities under the Hindutva government of India, as Hindutva is not just a local ideology today but one of the allies of the international Zionist bloc;
* Include Al-Aqsa, Palestine, and the history of Muslim struggles in textbooks and education policies—so that the future Muslim generation grows up with their history, heritage, and identity.
Because—a state is not just a border; a state is a trust.
And if this trust is not protected, history will not forgive anyone.
Our final demands are to ourselves, which are essentially a pledge.
Whereas—we believe that Al-Quds is not just a city; it is a part of faith;
And—we know that the liberation of Baitul Maqdis will not be in the hands of anyone else; it will be written in the hands of one of our generations;
And—we understand that the establishment of Zionism is fundamentally the result of our own self-forgetfulness;
And—if we are not prepared today, then Allah forbid, our children might find a Bangladesh tomorrow where Hindutva and Zionism together create a new Gaza;
And—Gaza is a mirror for us—where we see how being a believer means not just surviving but standing firm in struggle;
Therefore—we, the people of this land, the citizens of this Muslim territory, the children of this nation, and above all, members of the Muslim Ummah—make a pledge:
* We will all spontaneously boycott every product, company, and power that sustains Israel’s occupation;
* We will prepare our society and future generations—who will preserve and restore all symbols and signs of Islam and the Muslim Ummah, Insha’Allah;
* We will raise our children in such a way that they are prepared to make the highest sacrifices of life and wealth to protect their ideals and land;
* We will not be divided—because we know that divided people are quickly occupied. We will remain united so that this Bangladesh never becomes the next Gaza of any Hindutva project.
We will start from our own homes—leaving the imprint of this pledge everywhere: in language, history, education, culture, economy, and society.
We will remember:
The martyrs of Gaza do not only want our prayers—they want our preparation.
Final Words:
Peace be upon the honorable people of Gaza—upon them,
Who have shown unprecedented patience, who have proven unwavering faith.
Who have ignited the fire of resistance amidst the ruins,
Who have embraced the pain of the world’s silence and indifference with a smile on their faces.
Peace be upon them, who have left their names in the ledger of honor—
Peace be upon Hind Rajab, Reem, and Fadi Abu Saleh, and all the martyrs whose blood has further sanctified the holy land of Gaza, whose eyes held the flame of resistance.
Peace be upon the proud inhabitants of Baitul Maqdis, whose hearts still echo ‘Al-Quds Lana’, Al-Quds is ours!
Congratulations to the people of Gaza—
You have written an epic of faith, patience, and sacrifice.
You have shown the world the power of faith and reliance on Allah.
We, the people of Bangladesh—standing from the land of Shah Jalal and Shariatullah, salute you,
We send our love and greetings to your martyrs,
And in our voices, this prayer is uttered—
O Allah, make this brave land of Gaza the stone
upon which all the conspiracies of the Zionists will shatter.
On behalf of the people of all levels of Bangladesh,
Palestine Solidarity Movement, Bangladesh.
