Where local communities and local unions have worked together, Staten Island residents have prospered. Let's put Staten Islanders to work!

As highlighted with Empire Outlets and the New York Wheel, hundreds of North Shore residents were accepted into union apprenticeships programs and have been able to provide an improved standard of living for their families. We need developers to commit to hire contractors who, in turn, would hire local

So much construction is happening on Staten Island, but unfortunately local Staten Island residents aren't getting any of this new work, like Riverside Galleria. Riverside Galleria is planned as a large upscale retail complex, over 580,000 square feet, located in the Charleston section of Staten Island -- one of New York City's most affluent neighborhoods.
This is just one example of upcoming projects on SI that will create thousands of construction jobs over the next several years. Currently none of these jobs are aimed at local residents. Where local communities and local unions have worked together, Staten Island residents have prospered.
We need developers to commit to hire contractors who, in turn, would hire local residents for jobs that pay good wages with health insurance, retirement security, and investments in training and education.
