🏆 WORLD CUP 2026 CHAMPIONS — ENGLAND WOMEN O65s 🏆
Some journeys are special.
And then there are journeys that become part of you.
When this team first came together, none of us could have imagined quite what lay ahead. A new coaching team, new ideas, new relationships — but a shared belief in what this England O65s group could become.
Then came the hard yards.
Selection. Tough decisions. Building the wider training group. Creating not just a collection of talented players, but a team with a shared identity and a clear philosophy: be brave, play with purpose, trust each other, work for each other — and above all, enjoy the privilege of playing for England.
The Four Nations gave us our first real opportunity to put that into practice. We tested ourselves, learned about each other, ironed out the bits that needed work and left knowing we had something special beginning to take shape.
And then… Belgium. 🇧🇪
The World Cup squad came together.
Yes, there were seasoned Masters internationals. Players who had played together for years. But this group had something unique:
We were together. England O65s. World Cup 2026.
And what followed was something none of us will ever forget.
Six games.
25 goals.
11 different goal scorers.
ONE goal conceded.
But those numbers don’t tell the story.
The story is in the trust.
The passes made because someone knew their teammate would be there.
The extra run.
The ‘swarm’ & tackle.
The encouragement.
The celebrations.
The way every single person understood that their role mattered.
And then there was everything off the pitch…
The laughter. The stories. The food. The questionable dance moves. The vlogs. The endless banter. The moments that will probably become increasingly exaggerated every time we retell them!
That hilarity and camaraderie wasn’t separate from our success.
It was part of it.
Because somewhere between the training, the games, the laughter and the pressure, this group became something bigger than a squad.
We became a team.
And when we stepped onto that pitch, the togetherness we had built off it was there for everyone to see.
Then came the final whistle.
World Champions. 🏆🏴🏑
Pride. Joy. Relief. Emotion.
And an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
For every player who committed to the journey.
For every training session, journey and difficult decision.
For the wider training group who helped build the foundations.
For the coaching and support team who gave so much.
And, most of all, for this extraordinary group of women.
Because World Cups aren’t won in the final.
They’re won in all the moments that come before it.
And somehow, in Belgium, we created something that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.
The goals we’ll remember.
The celebrations we’ll laugh about.
The stories that will get better every time we tell them.
And the people we will never forget.
