“This week offers an opportunity to recreate a new group constellation with others who have had a similar experience. For each participant it can be an update, refreshment, a coming together, a further development, a (re-)learning process.”

This workshop is open to alumni of David’s intensives only — including the 4 or 5-week FL&PT at Tictac, Ex-In intensives (Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy), the Costa Rica 50-day (2010), the 60-day improvisation at Tictac (2019), and the Chiang Mai intensives (2016–2017).

David Zambrano has been a defining figure in international contemporary dance for over 40 years. Born in Venezuela, he spent 15 years in New York before co-founding Tictac Art Centre in Brussels in 2018 with Mat Voorter. He has taught in more than 75 countries and performed at hundreds of venues worldwide. Passing Through — his leaderless group composition practice — has shaped generations of improvisers across the globe.

Every first and third Saturday, Tictac’s studio becomes their open stage. No selection, anyone can apply to perform. We love transparency on stage!

Want to go deeper? Martin returns in March 2027 for 𝟭 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆: 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 — a full month dedicated entirely to his movement research.

“What I’m offering to you is an experience of my craft, a study moment in the library of my knowledge. I will teach you the scores and methods that will equip you with concrete and graspable tools. I designed these tools in order to cultivate awareness, a sensitivity that can help you to access your feelings. The study process will radically enlarge your movement vocabulary and teach you how to use the body language more eloquently.”

Martin Kilvady is a Slovak dancer, performer and teacher with over 30 years in professional contemporary dance. He was a member of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s ROSAS company in Brussels, contributing to iconic works including Drumming and Just Before, and has been a long-standing member of Thomas Hauert’s company ZOO. Co-founder of Les SlovaKs Dance Collective, he has performed across all continents and collaborated with David Zambrano and Chrysa Parkinson. His ongoing movement research — rooted in improvisation — has been shared in studios and on stages worldwide for more than 25 years.

On Thursdays, Tictac invites the guest artists leading workshops to present their work on stage, for the general public and the participants. It’s often a stage improvisation, and sometimes performing together!
