The CNCE Beginners’ Course has come to an end: around 50 new and experienced sailors gathered for a fun weekend in Bruinisse, after a series of theoretical classes in Brussels. During the two days, participants had the opportunity to experience sailing on yachts and valks, guided by our skippers and valk coaches. The weather conditions were a bit challenging with winds up to 20 knots and gusts of 25-30 knots, but with reefing the sails and adjusting our sailing plans all boats made it safely back into the marina. On Saturday everybody gathered for a nice barbecue and danced into the night. Thanks for a fun weekend to all! See you again at sea!

There are still some places left for our iconic Beginners' Course 2026 edition with a theory part and a sailing weekend 13-14 June in Bruinisse, Netherlands. Spread the word around you! Find out more about it

Join the Beginners' Course 2026!

This year's Beginners' Course will take place on the evenings of 1, 3, 9 & 11 June (theory lectures in Brussels) and on the weekend of 13-14 June (practical sailing in Bruinisse, Netherlands).

After a very successful BC2025 we are again looking forward to another Beginners' Course taking place on a full weekend! You will sail with the skippers of the CNCE in the Grevelingen meer (Bruinisse), experiencing two different types of boats (dinghies and yachts). The participants will practice all roles of a crew member with a specific focus on the necessary knowledge for the safe handling of a sailing boat. The sailing activity will be complemented by a Saturday Night Sailing Party.
Sailing terminology, knots, “rules of the road” for ships at sea are elements that serve to develop what you need to become a competent crew member. These will be the subject of basic theory courses to be held in Brussels (evening sessions) before the practice.

Places are limited, so please register as soon as possible and no later than Sunday, 24 May 2026!

After a fantastic presentation weekend at Hombeek, the excitement is real.

High attendance, 4 sailing slots, all Laser dinghies fully booked, and even 2 members joining the friendly regatta with WVD: a great sign that the CNCE dinghy season is off to a strong start.

Our fleet is ready for members to enjoy:
2 Laser ILCA single dinghies with ILCA 7 sail
1 Laser 16 for up to 5 people

Half day or full day, Hombeek offers the perfect mix of sailing, nature, fun and relaxation. A beautiful lake, a great atmosphere, and the kind of day that reminds you why time on the water is never wasted.

The club has also completely renewed its terrace, now open on weekends with drinks and a solid food menu. CNCE members get 10% off the menu, just mention it before ordering.

So after a nice session on the water, there is always time to wind down with a b**r and an excellent burger.

And as someone said at the end of the video:
“Much better than a day at the office.”

Come sail with us.
