Acro Companion

A few weeks ago, we looked back on our run over the last season, where we took big steps in the journey of building out the Acro Companion platform.

If we look towards the coming season, we are even more ambitious, and we’re happy to share some highlights of that ambition:

Last season we expanded and tested Acro Companion with Aerobics, TeamGym, and Groepsspringen. This season we’ll focus on supporting our clients to onboard these new disciplines. In parallel, we aim to start trialling Parkour, Dance and Mixed Artistic Gymnastics, and we are actively researching other sports opportunities. Together with our partners in the Netherlands, we will be working towards expanding Acro Companion countrywide across all WAG and MAG competitions; in parallel, we’ll be trialling TeamGym, Groepsspringen, T&T and Parkour together.

As always, growth only matters if we can support it well. That is why we will continue investing in our internal processes, automation, and operational maturity, while keeping our focus on reliability and our ambition to reach zero user-impacting errors.

At the same time, our larger and increasingly senior team allows us to work on some of the most exciting product improvements in Acro Companion so far: Offline and no-internet competitions, video integration, automated competition weekend creation, seasonal competitions, national squad metrics, further commercialisation of our gymnast profile functionality, and more are all in active development.

The journey is far from over, and we can’t wait to continue building the future together with our clients, partners, and the entire gymnastics community.

As the 2025–2026 competition season comes to an end, we wanted to take a moment to look back.

Over the past year, Acro Companion grew from supporting 190 to 327 gymnastics competitions, a 72% increase in one season, far beyond what we expected at the start of the year.

This growth was made possible by several important developments.
Our continued collaboration with our Tumbling & Trampoline partners in Estonia, Sweden, Germany, Scotland, the Netherlands, France, Israel, Belgium, Ireland, British Gymnastics and World Gymnastics, whose feedback and support have been essential in developing our solution.

Our continued collaboration with the Gymnastics Federation of the Netherlands, where Acro Companion supported all Acrobatic Gymnastics competitions, as well as the first Women’s and Men’s Artistic regions.

And perhaps the most meaningful growth: organizers and federations recommending Acro Companion to others, helping them get started and sharing their experience across the gymnastics community. For us, there is no stronger vote of confidence.

Behind the scenes, our engineering team focused on supporting this growth by further automating processes, professionalising internal workflows, expanding configuration options and improving platform reliability. Despite the strong increase in competitions, we significantly reduced visible user-impacting issues compared with the previous season.

At the same time, we delivered new features to reduce organizers’ workload and create more value for gymnasts, coaches, judges, parents, fans and volunteers.

None of this would have been possible without the trust of our clients and the dedication of our team. This year, the Acro Companion team grew from 12 to 23 people, while continuing to strengthen our ability to deliver reliable, practical and modern competition software for gymnastics.

To everyone who has been part of our journey this season: thank you for your trust, ideas, honest feedback and for challenging us to keep improving. Your support continues to shape Acro Companion.

Three years ago today, Acro Companion was proud to support the 2023 USA Gymnastics Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma 🇺🇸, helping deliver a seamless competition experience.

Over 1,600 athletes competed for national titles across Acrobatic, Rhythmic, and Trampoline & Tumbling, showcasing talent, precision, and passion at every level.

From schedules and starting orders to live scoring and results, we were honoured to contribute behind the scenes and be part of such a memorable event.
