We went behind the scenes at our BNXT Referee Clinic, where our referees took on the physical tests and prepared for the season ahead.

The annual pre-season referee clinic covers the latest FIBA rules and interpretations, protocols, game management, time management an much more. 🏀

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? 🌍🏀

Breein Tyree spent the 2022-23 season with BC Oostende, helping the club win the BNXT SuperCup and the Belgian Championship. His outstanding performances also earned him a place in the BNXT Dream Team that season.

Following his impressive campaign, Tyree attracted interest from several major European clubs and has competed in European competitions every season since leaving the BNXT League.

After multiple seasons in the Basketball Champions League, he joined PAOK Saloniki midway through last season, where he immediately established himself as the team’s leading guard and once again showcased his elite scoring ability. Following PAOK’s run back to the FIBA Europe Cup Finals, the Greek club returns to the EuroCup this season, with Tyree re-signing to continue leading the way.

From the BNXT League to one of Europe’s premier competitions. 🚀

Savior Melfor is headed back to Rotterdam! 🚀

Zeeuw & Zeeuw Rotterdam City strengthen their roster with the signing of Sevior Melfor, The 21-year old is rejoining Rotterdam after a 2 year stint at ZZ Leiden.

Following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season, Yoeri Schoepen officially announced his retirement from professional basketball after 12 seasons at the highest level. A true product of Antwerp basketball, Schoepen finished his career in the most memorable way possible, helping Windrose Giants Antwerp win the Belgian Cup, BNXT League and Belgian Championship to complete a historic treble.

Yoeri Schoepen leaves the game with an incredible legacy at the club he has called home for so much of his career.

Alex Merkviladze is headed to the North! 🚀

Donar Groningen strengthen their frontcourt with the signing of Georgian international Aleksandre Merkviladze. The 24-year-old joins the team for the upcoming season, after spending last season at Coretec Oostende.

The Orange Lions are getting ready for their next challenge, with 6 BNXT League players included in the selection of 15 players preparing to face Germany and Croatia in the FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers. 🇳🇱

The Lions take on Germany on Thursday, August 27. A few days later they host Croatia, on August 30th. 🔥
