Our co-chair Ibán García del Blanco Ibán has joined today the UEFA Chief Medical Officer, Dr Zoran Bahtijarević, to support a health campaign being run by UEFA and the European Resuscitation Council on ‘Get trained, save lives’. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the third leading cause of death in Europe, happening to 1 in 1,000 people every year. Every 45 seconds, someone has a SCA. In this situation, every minute that passes decreases the chances of survival by 10%. Without immediate treatment, 95% of victims will die.

We take note of and respect European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling on the Super League case. We continue to support the European Sport Model based on solidarity and pyramid organisation. Football is about sport and community, the competition should stay within this frame, not only follow economic interests.
In this regard, it is desirable a higher EU involvement and stronger policy framework to protect the game, and we are committed in the European Parliament to work all together in interest of football and millions of fans.
