C’est avec une profonde émotion que SRO Motorsports Group a appris le décès de Pierre Wahlen, à l’âge de 42 ans.

Il faisait partie intégrante de cette grande famille des 24heures, dans l’équipe de sécurité médicale du Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, à laquelle il consacrait son temps, son énergie et son cœur, avec une passion et un dévouement exemplaire. 
 
Toutes nos pensées les plus sincères vont à Christian et toute sa famille, à ses proches et ses amis.

It is with deep sadness that SRO Motorsports Group learned of the passing of Pierre Wahlen, at the age of 42.

Pierre was an integral part of the extended 24 Hours family, serving on the medical safety team at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. He devoted his time, energy and heart to this role with exemplary passion and dedication.
 
Our heartfelt thoughts are with Christian and his entire family, as well as Pierre’s loved ones and friends.

Après une saison avec Audi, Boutsen VDS s’est associé à Mercedes en 2024. L’ambition était claire : revenir aux CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa avec une voiture engagée en Pro et viser une deuxième victoire.

After one season with Audi, Boutsen VDS partnered with Mercedes in 2024. The goal was clear: return to the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with a Pro entry and fight for a second victory.
 

Le retour d’un nom emblématique. 
 
Après avoir exploré d’autres horizons après 2015, Marc VDS Racing n’a jamais perdu de vue les CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. En 2023, le nom emblématique Marc VDS a fait son retour dans le classique belge aux côtés de Boutsen Racing, avec deux Audi R8 LMS GT3.

The return of an iconic name.
 
Marc VDS Racing may have explored other avenues after 2015, but the lure of the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa proved irresistible. In 2023, the iconic Marc VDS name returned to the Belgian classic, joining forces with Boutsen Racing to field a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT3s.

Une victoire, mais aussi une belle cause.
 
Lors des CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa 2015, Marc VDS Racing ne s’est pas contenté de remporter la course. L’équipe a également engagé une BMW Z4 GT3 au profit de la Fondation contre le Cancer. Pascal Witmeur, Marc Duez, Jean-Michel Martin et Éric van de Poele, totalisant 12 victoires à Spa, ont chacun pris le volant pendant un relais symbolique de 24 minutes.

A victory on track, a cause beyond racing. 
 
At the 2015 CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, Marc VDS Racing did more than win the race. The team also entered a BMW Z4 GT3 to raise funds for the Belgian Foundation against Cancer. Pascal Witmeur, Marc Duez, Jean-Michel Martin and Eric van de Poele—together boasting 12 Spa victories—each completed a symbolic 24-minute stint.

Avant de connaître le succès avec d’autres modèles, Marc VDS Racing a tenté sa chance aux CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa avec cette Ford Mustang GT3. Elle n’aura finalement disputé qu’une seule édition, en 2011, pilotée par Marc Duez, Jean-Michel Martin et Éric Bachelart.

Before the Ford GT and BMW Z4... 
 
Before finding success with the Ford GT and BMW Z4, Marc VDS Racing took on the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with this Ford Mustang GT3. It ultimately made just one appearance, in 2011, driven by Marc Duez, Jean-Michel Martin and Éric Bachelart.
 

2009 : une voiture, le début d’une grande histoire. 🏁
 
Engagée aux CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa pour Kuppens, Leinders et De Doncker, cette Ford GT1 écrira ensuite l’une des plus belles pages de Marc VDS Racing, avec quatre victoires en FIA GT1 World Championship.

La semaine dernière, Marc van der Straten a vu une dernière fois ses couleurs se battre aux avant-postes des CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. La Porsche 911 GT3 R de Boutsen VDS, pilotée par Alessio Picariello, Morris Schuring et Dorian Boccolacci, a terminé à une belle 8e place.

The colours of a legend

Last week, Marc van der Straten watched his signature colours battle at the front one last time during the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The Boutsen VDS Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Alessio Picariello, Morris Schuring and Dorian Boccolacci, ultimately finished a strong eighth.

2015 : l’année de la consécration. 🏆
 
Après des années de quête, Marc VDS Racing remporte enfin les CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. Malgré l’abandon de la voiture n°45 alors qu’elle menait la course, la n°46 sauve l’équipe. Lucas Luhr, Markus Palttala et Nicky Catsburg offrent à Marc VDS une victoire historique.

After years of chasing victory, Marc VDS Racing finally conquered the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. Despite the retirement of the leading #45 car on Sunday morning, the #46 delivered the team’s long-awaited success, with Lucas Luhr, Markus Palttala and Nicky Catsburg taking a historic victory.
