PURE Pilates wil een veilige ruimte creëren waar je je lichaam kan (her)ontdekken en waar je aan vertrouwen en kracht kan winnen door te bewegen. In een volledig uitgeruste pilatesstudio met gespecialiseerde trainers, kan je het juiste type en niveau vinden dat past bij jouw behoeften en doelen.

Reformer classes are all about training movement-control using an unlimited variety of exercises, from which you develop abilities such as FLOW and PRECISION.🤸🏻‍♂️

A reformer session can be done individually (for beginners and in special cases), or it can be done in small groups. 👯‍♀️

When we palpate bones 🦴 are we measuring posture? 🤔
Or just feeling differences in bony shapes ? 🤲🏼

Pelvic bones 🦴 are all shaped differently.
But they all form the same crucial joints such as the hips, spine and the pelvis itself, making a crucial structure that gives basis to most human movements.
However fixing and stabilising are not the pelvis’s only role.
More importantly it allows movement in multiple directions and is, thus, best examined when in motion despite its size or shape.

Did you know ❓

… that the Tower was once two spring sets attached to a bed ❓

Yes, that’s right, a bed❗️

J. Pilates developed the Tower while rehabilitating patients that were staying long-terms in the hospital. The patient would stay in his/her bed and the Tower would be adapted to it.
This goes to show that J. Pilates used his method in many different circumstances, beyond fitness and training, including prevention and even early stages of recovery an injury. 🔎

Pilates equipment (the tower, barrel, chair and reformer) were first created to “do some of the work for you” and help find the “right muscles”. Designed in peculiar ways, they stimulate body awareness and allow a deeper understanding of an exercise. Many times a Mat exercise will only be mastered after a few tryouts on one or more apparatus. Each equipment has its own purpose and can be used in various ways according to the client’s needs. 🔎

It’s all about the details...🔎

We can be mindful in many ways:
by staying still; in motion; by being in our thoughts; through the body; consciously; or by letting go.

Awareness is what enables us to become mindful (our sixth sense, they say). By exercising awareness, we are able to experience mindfulness in it’s many different forms.

H.D. at age 70 used to have many physical limitations due to advanced arthrosis. She became curious about her body and it’s revealing possibilities, gradually overcoming her limitations, making movement a consistent and pleasant habit in her life today 💚

Wij willen terug naar de fitness want...

➡️ Uit een sectorbevraging begin oktober 2020 blijkt dat er in de Belgische fitnessclubs per 100.000 bezoeken slechts 0,32 positieve gevallen van Covid-19 werden vastgesteld! 🏅 We kunnen dus stellen dat een fitnessclub, (PT)-studio, Crossfitbox of boutique een zeer veilige omgeving is om te werken aan de fysieke én mentale gezondheid! 🙏🏼

I was walking early this morning in my neighbourhood and I saw a guy on the street with his mask on tap-dancing for his girlfriend, who was clearly very upset 😢. He was moving beautifully, right in front of her, trying to cheer her up... and this inspired me to cheer you all up as well and get you to move on!

Don’t be sad, don’t get frustrated, let’s just move together until this “wave” passes us by 🌊😷

Start your experience with the Pilates method by learning the basics. Mat work requires a great amount body awareness in relationship with gravity. Simple does not mean easy, though 👆 Don’t underestimate how powerful the body can become when strengthening from ‘inside-out’ 😉

‼️ VANAF WOENSDAG SCHAKELT SPORTSECTOR NAAR CODE ORANJE ‼️

➡️ Na overleg met de sportsector heeft Vlaams minister van Sport Ben Weyts vandaag beslist dat vanaf woensdag 14 oktober de sector naar code oranje schakelt.

➡️ Concreet betekent dit dat indoorsportactiviteiten waarbij geen anderhalve meter afstand bewaard kan worden voor iedereen boven 12 jaar tijdelijk verboden worden. De kleedkamers sluiten, behalve in zwembaden.

➡️ In zijn persbericht vermeldt de minister expliciet dat fitness en trainingen waarbij men anderhalve meter afstand hanteert mogelijk blijven.

➡️ Dat enkel de kleedkamers moeten sluiten (horecagedeelte mag openblijven onder zelfde strikte regels van de horeca) is dankzij jullie inspanningen van de voorbije maanden en de correctheid waarmee ook jullie klanten de maatregelen uit het protocol hebben opgevolgd. Proficiat daarvoor. Deze boodschap zijn we blijven verkondigen, waardoor deze dus ook tot bij de beslissingsnemers geraakt is. Evenals het belang van 'fit zijn' in deze bizarre tijden voor meer weerbaarheid en immuniteit.

She’s also a dancer 🩰 with a passion for movement that goes beyond the stage ✨
She is Level 1 and 2 Mat-Pilates certified by Classical Pilates . And has been teaching Pilates for more than 5 years now, also focused on fitness and health care.💚

She will be at the studio on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings teaching small groups and private sessions.👌
