It was a brilliant experience for me to be able to take part in this tournament; unfortunately, I missed the cut. Day 1 was just a bad day – I simply couldn’t play my golf the way I wanted to. My tee shots at the start, in particular, weren’t good, but I played the back nine at par. Day 2 went better, even though I was tired – playing five days in a row had taken its toll – but my determination and the people who came to support me got me through it. I wish the others another fantastic day of competition and hope the weather stays dry. I’ve learnt a lot and will apply this to the next tournament in October – the Qualifying School in Germany – by which time I’ll be well-rested and ready to take the next steps. Thanks to my caddy Johan Bancken, my parents and, of course, Allan de Bondt, Luc Feremans, Cleydael and, of course, the ProGolf Tour organisation.
