📍 This month’s edition…… brings together a month of important milestones, from the EEF General Assembly in Dublin and the approval of the new EEF Strategy 2027–2030 to the start of a new presidential term with Quentin Simonet taking the helm of the Federation.

🐎 We look back on a memorable conclusion to the 2026 Longines EEF Series, with Belgium crowned Champions in Avenches, and highlight the continued work taking place across sport development and sustainability. The edition also looks ahead to the 2027 European Dressage & Para Dressage Championships and brings together the latest results from the Balkan Championships in jumping, dressage and endurance.

📍 Quentin Simonet elected EEF President for the 2026–2030 term 🇪🇺

🔹 The EEF’s 2026 General Assembly, held in Dublin, and hosted by Horse Sport Ireland brought together representatives from 38 National Federations for key discussions and decisions on the future of European equestrian sport.

🔹 Quentin Simonet (FRA) was elected EEF President for the 2026–2030 term, while the General Assembly also approved the EEF Strategy 2027–2030, setting out five pillars for the years ahead: LEAD, DEVELOP, SUPPORT, PROMOTE and CONNECT.

🔹 The Assembly also elected three new Board members for the 2026–2030 term: Philine Ganders-Meyer (GER), Emil Flam (NOR) and Marilena Mladin (ROU).

🔹 The EEF also thanked the outgoing Board members for their contribution to the Federation: Soenke Lauterbach (GER) Alan Andabaka (CRO) and Elisabeth Max Theurer (AUT).

🔹 With the new mandate and strategy now in place, the EEF looks ahead to the next four years with a clear focus on strengthening collaboration with its National Federations and building a stronger European voice for equestrian sport.

The European Equestrian Federation congratulates Quentin Simonet (FRA) on his election as EEF President for the 2026–2030 term.

Elected at today’s General Assembly in Dublin, Quentin will lead the Federation over the next four years as the EEF implements its Strategy 2027–2030 and continues to strengthen collaboration across its 40 Member Federations.

We look forward to working together on the priorities ahead and wish Quentin every success in his new mandate.

Our thanks to Horse Sport Ireland for its gracious hospitality in hosting the EEF in Dublin, and to all our Member Federations and stakeholders for their active participation and valuable contributions over the past two days of discussion, exchange and collaboration.

🇷🇴 The Balkan Endurance Championships are coming to Buftea!

📍 This week, 18–20 September, riders and horses from across the Balkan region will gather in Romania 🇷🇴 for the 2026 Balkan Endurance Championships, as part of the 15th edition of the Shagya Arabian Cup.

🔹 The Senior Championship will see combinations take on a 120–139 km CEI2 competition, with individual and team titles at stake. A demanding test of stamina, speed and the partnership between horse and rider.

🔹 As one of the longest-standing regional championships in equestrian sport, the Balkan Championships play an important role in developing riders, horses and the wider equestrian community across the region. The EEF is proud to support its member nations in the organisation of these Championships, continuing a tradition that stretches back more than 60 years.

🔹 With Buftea having hosted the 2025 FEI Endurance World Championship for Young Riders & Juniors, the venue is once again preparing to welcome an international endurance field.

👀 We look forward to following the action and celebrating the best riders and horses from across the Balkans who will come together for this year’s Championships.

🇷🇸 The 2026 Balkan Dressage Championships get underway this week!

📍 From 17–20 September, riders from seven nations will come together at the Kovilovo Sports Center in Belgrade, Serbia, competing across Children, Juniors, Young Riders and Senior Small Tour categories for team and individual titles.

🔹 The Championships get underway on Thursday, with competition kicking off at 14:00 (CEST), followed by the opening ceremony, and parade of nations at 20:00 (CEST). Competition continues throughout the weekend from 8:00 (CEST)

🔹 The Balkan Championships continue to provide an important platform for developing equestrian sport and supporting riders across the region.

🏆 Double gold for Greece 🇬🇷 , senior glory for Croatia 🇭🇷 at the 2026 Balkan Jumping Championships.

The 2026 Balkan Jumping Championships came to a successful close in Thessaloniki (GRE), bringing together around 200 riders and horses from nine Balkan nations across four days of competition.

🇬🇷 Greece claimed team gold in both the Ladies’ and Children’s categories, while 🇭🇷 Croatia took the Senior Team title before Josipa Koletic and Quomedie Fetiche Z added individual Senior gold.

🇷🇴 Romania secured the Junior Team and Individual Young Riders’ titles, while 🇹🇷 Türkiye topped the Young Riders’ Team competition and took the Junior Individual title.

📍 With five individual champions crowned on the final day, including closely fought jump-offs in the Ladies’ and Children’s competitions, the Championships provided another valuable platform for competition and athlete development across the region.

🔹 The Balkan Jumping Championships will return in 2027, with Romania set to host the Jumping Championships.
