Here are 4 fun facts:

🔋 Solar cars can still drive when the sun isn't shining. They store energy in a battery, but careful energy management is key throughout the race.

🏁 You may already know that the very first edition of the iESC took place in Zutendaal in 2010. What you may not know is that exactly 10 years ago, in 2016, the first 24-hour iESC was held at Circuit Zolder. This milestone marked the beginning of a new era for this event, which has since grown into one of the world’s most unique and challenging solar racing competitions.

🏃 The race starts with a sprint. At the starting signal, drivers run across the track to their solar cars before beginning the race.
