Here is the 3d print of the lighter ebm pad. It was necessary to loose weight to fit within 0.5 kg. shipping rate, the difference is 40 grams. We had to do that to keep the promised shipping costs. Although it is lighter and more compact the new design offers wider bar traction area, and also looks much better.

The ebm compound and shape ensure traction on the roof bar. The three point clasping allows it to withstand centrifugal, side, acceleration and braking forces.
