Our mission is to enable and inspire involvement in paddlesport for people with disabilities Paddling is an excellent way to sense the freedom of mobility.
Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of paddling, whatever the purpose and regardless of physical or
mental functionality. Paddling can be a good way to become part of a social community and ensure equal training and competition opportunities. Paddle-Ability sessions enable disabled people to take part in activities with other disabled people as part of a club or group specif
ically for disabled people or, more frequently, alongside their non-disabled friends and family. This project aims to help people with disabilities together with family or friends to experience contact with nature and spend
more time outdoors, which is of great importance for improving their health. The idea came from a group of young people who love water sports. They presented us with a suggestion to create a kayak club for people with disabilities. The lack of experience, knowledge, and skills has led them to connect with our organization, which representatives have an extensive experience in the development of sports and European projects. Our project is the
training of volunteers to help in the release of people with disabilities between the ages of 15 and 40 to enable them to participate in social life. These opportunities will be created through the development and implementation of effective training and mentoring tools. According to data shared by Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities 2021-2030, 17.9 % of people between 16- 65 (years old) have a disability, and more than half of all persons with disabilities feel discriminated against. The focus of the project is to provoke people with disabilities to leave their homes and enjoy life by participating in various initiatives. Kayaking is a sport that would help improve overall physical and mental conditions. Our focus is on people who might otherwise miss out on the experience of outdoor adventure as a result of systemic or mental health barriers they face in their lives. Paddling provides unique opportunities for people of all abilities to overcome personal challenges, master new skills, experience the outdoors, and enjoy physical activity with fellow paddlers.
