A lot of people ask me how much Glovo couriers actually make, so I wanted to share the reality behind the GoPro clips and highlight reels.
The truth is, we’re not employees. We’re independent contractors. No fixed salary, no guaranteed income. If there are no orders, you don’t get paid. The platform decides how much each delivery is worth, while we cover our own expenses: bikes, maintenance, phone bills, equipment, taxes, and everything else that comes with the job.
Yes, there are days when you can make really good money, especially during busy hours. But those exceptional days don’t represent everyday life. People don’t always see the waiting between orders, the bad weather, the flat tires, the technical issues, or the long hours it sometimes takes to reach your goals.
At the same time, this job has taught me discipline, resilience, and how to keep pushing even when things aren’t easy. It has given me flexibility and opportunities that I genuinely appreciate.
So if you’re thinking about becoming a courier, go into it with realistic expectations. Don’t compare your journey to someone’s best day on social media. Work hard, stay consistent, and use every experience as a stepping stone toward something bigger.
This isn’t a complaint, it’s simply the reality. There are challenges, but there are also lessons, freedom, and opportunities if you’re willing to put in the effort.
