The Marshals of the Lists

In medieval tournaments, marshals were more than officials — they were guardians of honor.
They inspected armor, checked weapons, enforced the rules, and ensured that every blow was fair and within the code of chivalry. When tempers flared or blades struck too hard, it was the marshal’s calm authority that restored order to the field.

Historically, marshals were knights themselves — chosen for their integrity, knowledge, and courage to stand between warriors when needed. They carried the same spirit of chivalry they were sworn to uphold.

Centuries later, their role remains the same.
On the modern list, they still stand between chaos and discipline, passion and fairness.

At Magna Carta, we deeply value their work.
We honor their precision, impartiality, and vigilance — for without marshals, no tournament could truly uphold the ideals of honor and respect that define our way.
