This week is world adoption week in the UK. This is a special week for one of our own, Dr. Spencer Brown, who was adopted at a very young age.
Spencer has been featured in a new book, Bravely Being Me, released today (October 18th). The book celebrates the achievements of a diverse group of individuals who all have one thing in common, they were adopted.
Spencer is a former Royal Marine and professional rugby player, competing for England at the international level. He is now a physical performance coach, with a focus on sports performance, injury prevention and injury rehabilitation.
Spencer is honoured to share pages with other adoptive people who have incredible stories to share.
Spencer hopes his story will help to inspire other adoptive people to take opportunities, and to keep taking them even if some donβt work out. For those contemplating adopting, he hopes this book will help you to decide to give someone a second chance.

The assessment protocol used at Island Rehab Hub is a Performance Deficit Test (PDT). The PDT assessment helps to identify underlying modifiable injury risk factors, such as muscular strength imbalances, movement dysfunctions, and flexibility limitations. These issues can be targeted in a customized corrective exercise program that meets your individual needs.
