We are pleased to welcome Dakia O’Brien and Reese McKoy as the newest members of our Graduate Training Programme (GTP). Both Dakia and Reese are Bermudian university graduates who have been gaining valuable, hands-on experience since they joined the programme in November 2025. Dakia and Reese are working in the Insurance (Supervision) Department under the guidance of Principals Bruna Furtado and Liezel van der Merwe and Assistant Directors Taijaun Talbot and Trudy Trott.
Reese shared that the GTP has been a strong platform for professional growth, stating, “Being part of a high-performing culture motivates me to continuously improve my work, connect with seasoned professionals, and learn more about the diverse areas of Bermuda’s financial sector. Everything I have learned so far has shown me just how much impact I can make, and I find that truly inspiring.”
Dakia also highlighted the significance of inclusion, teamwork, and collaboration at the BMA: “As an individual who has changed careers later in life, I find this supportive working environment gives me the confidence to show others that change and growth are possible at any stage, especially if you are determined to succeed and willing to persevere.”
Launched in 2008, the GTP is an immersive and challenging three-year experience that helps trainees develop the technical and professional skills needed for a dynamic career in Bermuda’s financial services sector.
Please join us in welcoming Dakia and Reese to the team. We look forward to supporting their continued growth throughout the GTP.
