The North Village Community Club has been in existence since 1957, the brainchild of Mr. James Flood, a concerned businessman who saw the potential of a group of young men with a common interest – football. Football was one of the few activities that channeled the energies of young people away from those activities that had a negative impact. It has been unofficially recognized that the North Vill

age Community Club began on a small playing area on Glebe Road, Pembroke. North Village Community Club and Government have now turned this area, known to North Village residents as “Pigs Field”, into a community park through negotiations. Activities such as cricket and football in the neighborhood are still carried on today. However, North Village Community Club has gone on to become the largest sports club in Bermuda. As a a community-based sports organization, North Village offers children an environment in which they can develop the necessary life skills to achieve success both on and off the field. We provide our youth with an outlet to embrace community spirit through sporting endeavors and community service events. In addition, North Village is proud to have played an influencing role in the success of several of our players who have gone on to either play professionally or to receive university scholarships. The commitment has returned to North Village time and again when those who have had football success return to Bermuda to coach and instill the same fundamental values in the next generation of young players. Most recently, North Village signed a five-year deal with the Glasgow Rangers. This alliance has already given several of our young players the opportunity to go to Scotland and be trained by Rangers coaches. The Rangers will continue to play a key role in the technical direction of North Village by sharing methods and techniques with NVCC coaches. The Rangers coaches will be visiting Bermuda each year to host a training camp and coaches’ education sessions. Our players will have the opportunity to go to Scotland each summer where they will train, compete and be evaluated by potential scouts. It is North Village’s goal to continue its programs to provide an enjoyable learning environment for the physical, social, and personal development of our youngsters.

Are you looking for a fun sporting activity for your daughter on a Saturday afternoon that will improve her physical health, enhance her teamwork and communication skills, and boost her social interaction and self-esteem. If so, NVCC Lady Rams are actively seeking young ladies aged 10 and under to join our netball family and participate in Netball Bermuda’s 2025/2026 season for U10s that starts on 1st November. Training days are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15pm to 6:30pm with games played early Saturday afternoons. Please send an email to [email protected] for further information.

Also, all ages and skill levels are welcomed to reach out for more information to get involved.
