Surfsup has closed. After incredible damage by Hurricane Nicole last year and the Government deciding it wanted to develop the land we were on it is not viable to continue to operate. In the meantime we are working with Ian Bridges of http://facebook.com/bermudadventure

Our next update is for Aquarius: (58.5 cm) who was captured at Somerset Long Bay on 15 August 2016; Aquarius appears to spend early morning and evening hours on the grass beds of Somerset Long Bay. This individual spends the middle part of the day and nights at a location about 600 m northeast of Long Bay that is slightly deeper, 5-7 m depth. During late October, Aquarius moved about 500 m west to a location north of the Vixen grass bed. The turtle is now diving deeper and regularly spending time at 10 – 12 m depths. It is possible that this will be Aquarius’ overwintering site. We are learning so much about our turtles using telemetry.

For those of you boating in Bermuda note the regular travel of Aquarius across the boat channel between Cambridge Beaches and Daniels Head...slow down and be cautious. There are lots of turtle out there, they are endangered and everyone should care enough to go slow in their zone.
