🇧🇳 Another National Record for Brunei!

This morning at the 33rd SEA Games 2025, Joel Ling raced the 200m Backstroke at the Sports Authority of Thailand Swimming Pool, and once again, he delivered.

Joel touched the wall in 2:11.41, setting a new Brunei Open National Record.

This didn’t happen overnight. With hard work, patience, and belief, the perseverance had paid off.

Congratulations on another national record, Joel!🇧🇳

🇧🇳 A Proud Team Effort at the SEA Games

We were deeply honoured by the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah, SEA Games Honorary Life President and President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, who came to watch and support the Brunei swim team in person.

The Brunei Swim Team put in a solid swim in the 4 × 100m Freestyle relay at the 33rd SEA Games, finishing with a time of 3:39.60.

The team was made up of Joel Ling, Zeke Chan, Muhammad Isa Ahmad, and Haziq Samil, who gave their best effort in a tough race environment. With only one day to get used to the pool and new starting blocks, the swimmers stayed focused and raced with confidence.

His Royal Highness’s encouragement meant a lot to the swimmers and coaching staff, and gave the team extra motivation on race day.

We sincerely thank His Royal Highness for the strong support and continued encouragement of Brunei athletes.

Thank you, Your Royal Highness. 🇧🇳

New National Record for Brunei!

A big congratulations to Joel Ling for setting a new Brunei Open National Record in the 100m Freestyle at the 33rd SEA Games.

Joel achieved this record while swimming the first leg of the 4 × 100m Freestyle relay, clocking a fast 52.72 seconds and breaking the previous national record of 53.59 seconds.

It was a strong and confident lead-off swim that gave the team a great start.

A well-earned result and a proud moment for Brunei swimming.

Well done, Joel🇧🇳
