Ladybug on a fig. Enough thunder to make the dog nervous, but no rain yet today. I ought to go buy eggs, but I'm so grateful for a whole day at home that I think I'd rather go without.

Hoverfly hiding from the rain under the Golden Berry leaves. I'm so glad the rain has arrived, even if waiting another week would have fit my schedule better 😆 El Niño usually means drought for us, but our lakes and wells are already nearly dry. We'll welcome every drop we get this summer.

Probably the next-to-last bowl of cherry tomatoes for a little while. The plants that produced all winter are on their way out, but new seeds have already sprouted to replace them.

The Rain Lilies have also decided that this is their moment to shine. Not that it has rained in a very long time. But maybe it means rain is coming.

Foxglove in the far back corner of the garden is putting on a show.

The oregano I rooted in water so long ago finally looks full and healthy. Now I'm going to have to find a place for it in the already overflowing garden 🤷🏻‍♀️🌱

Volunteer petunia is looking better than the original ever did!

I spotted this Floss Flower at the plant fair. I had never seen them here before, so I had to get one. Now to find a spot for one more unplanned plant 🤔

Went to the spring plant fair yesterday (and Friday 🤭). Bought more flowers than I planned and don't know where to put them. Perfect!

My tomatillo is covered with flowers even though it's still in its little plastic pot. I really ought to plant it soon!

Turns out I can't do it all. But if I'm going to let something go, it probably shouldn't be the thing that helps me see the beauty and joy just outside my front door. It's time to be a little more present here. And spring and the amaryllis flowers are here for it!
