Before entering the mat I don’t have a specific thought in mind other than being present in the moment.
I let every emotion and thought go and focus on the task at hand. I believe once I managed to “unlock” this skill of being present, competing got a lot more enjoyable for me.
As a colored belt I used to get pretty tense and stressed before entering the mat. I didn’t stop overthinking about all of the possible outcomes that could happen and what people would think of my performance. That alone made me perform worse than I could have done if I would have been more relaxed and present.
Looking back, I would have liked to be more present and relaxed to manage to perform better.
Hopefully I could help some of you with this post to have a different vision on competition 🙌🏼

I opted to stay out of the open class this time, since I was not feeling the best. Overall it was a great day in Turin 💪🏼

I had the pleasure of teaching a class to ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère workers that where interested in learning a bit about brazilian jiu jitsu.

We covered some self defense concepts and techniques that everyone could apply right away.
I really enjoy teaching people that don’t know anything since it forces me to make everything very simple and work on the foundation of our sport.

Thank you everyone for coming, I hope we can train again soon 💪🏼
