F1 Tech | What could be an explanation to Leclerc's problems in Hungary?:

— The Hungarian Grand Prix saw Lando Norris excel with a one-stop strategy, while Charles Leclerc faced "mysterious" issues that cost him a potential win despite a strong pole position.

— McLaren's MCL39 was well-suited to the Hungaroring, with its medium speed and long corners complementing the car's aero-mechanical balance. The team opted for a maximum downforce rear wing, enhancing performance on the twisty circuit.

— The rear wing featured a straight leading edge and a slight oblique inclination at the endplates to improve flow separation. The mainplane's pronounced chord ensured maximum vertical thrust, crucial for the narrow track.

— McLaren also used a double-element beam wing, with a massive chord lower element acting as a diffuser extension, maximizing downforce. The upper element managed low pressure without sacrificing top speed.

— The new floor introduced at Spa-Francorchamps further boosted the MCL39's performance, allowing it to generate higher downforce levels from the Venturi channels, making it faster in all corners.

— The aerodynamic stability of the MCL39 enabled Norris and Piastri to push hard in the last sector, which required a balanced front and rear axle. This stability was key in maintaining speed through long corners.

— McLaren's ability to manage tyre temperatures was another advantage. The MCL39s were the only cars able to maintain tyre performance through the final sector, setting fastest times and showcasing their tyre management prowess.

The Peugeot Quasar — a wild 1984 concept that looked like it landed from another planet and sounded like a Group B rally legend. Powered by a 600 hp mid-mounted turbocharged inline-4 from the 205 T16, wrapped in an unapologetically futuristic body. It never hit the streets, but it left a mark that still echoes through automotive design.
