"The shadow" - a name given to me by Peter Mcgough, who went on to be the editor of Flex Magazine.

Also the name of my horse when I was a child.

While many of my competitors partied in between their training, no one heard anything about me.

I appeared in competitions, won them and then disappeared from the public eye like a "shadow".

If you're introverted, you could probably relate.

I didn't want to be a famous superstar in Hollywood. I didn't like the glitz and the glamour. I enjoyed my privacy.

And all I focused on was getting better everyday. Nothing else mattered.

Most of all, "the shadow" created a mystique.

A mystique where my competitors began to believe they couldn't beat me.
