Our TK Pro Rodeo family is grieving an unimaginable loss this week. We lost two truly great men, Jamie Earp and Tucker Earp. These two men that were the center of our family.

Jamie and Tucker touched the lives of so many. Their infectious smiles, unforgettable laughs, big personalities, and the way they could light up a room, or an arena, will forever be remembered. Rodeo has a way of turning friends into family, and these two will always be a part of so many rodeo families.

There simply aren’t words big enough for a loss like this. Our hearts are with the Earp family and every friend, cowboy, and member of the rodeo community who loved Jamie and Tucker. We are thankful for every memory, every laugh, every story, and every moment we were blessed to share with them.

The night after the rodeo, the world lost Jamie and Tucker Earp, two riderless horses that were led around the arena in Guthrie.

The father and son from Jay, Oklahoma, were on their way home from the All-Star Team Roping Finals at the Lazy E when the accident happened last Wednesday. Jamie was 52. Tucker was 22.

A stranger got their horses out of the trailer. Those horses are back home with the family now.

Tucker signed with the NEO rodeo team out of Jay High School in 2023 on a full scholarship, with his daddy standing right beside him in the photo. Three years later, they were still hauling to ropings together.

Stetson Wright didn’t just return—he reminded the rodeo world exactly who he is.

After battling through injury, the 10-time World Champion stepped back into the arena in Utah with the same grit, determination, and championship mindset that built his legendary career. Matching the top score of the night with 84 points aboard Jitter Bug, Wright proved that time away hasn’t diminished his talent or his hunger to compete.

Every great champion faces adversity, but the true legends turn setbacks into fuel. Tonight was more than a successful ride—it was a statement. The road back has begun, and Stetson Wright is once again charging toward greatness.

On July 30, 1989 at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in Cheyenne, Wyoming, after completing a successful 85-point ride on a Brahma bull named “Takin' Care of Business”, Lane Frost dismounted and landed in the dirt. The bull turned and hit him in the back with his horn (although he was not gored), breaking several of his ribs. He initially rose to his feet, waving at Tuff Hedeman for help. As he took a couple of steps, he fell to the ground, causing his heart and lungs to be punctured by the broken ribs. Others believe he’d already suffered massive eternal injuries from the blow and his broken ribs almost immediately severed a main artery. He was rushed to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was just 25 years old. No autopsy was performed. He posthumously finished 3rd in the event. Frost's funeral service was held on August 2, 1989, at the First Baptist Church in Atoka, Oklahoma. An estimated 3,500 people attended. In 1994, the biopic based on Frost's life, 8 Seconds, was released. Luke Perry played the role of Frost. Stephen Baldwin was cast as Tuff Hedeman. Takin' Care of Business would go on to appear at the 1989 NFR and his last career outing was at the 1990 NFR. He was then retired and put out to stud until he died in 1999.
