🌄 Heartbreaking news from one of the world’s most stunning wilderness areas.

On November 17, 2025, a sudden and violent snowstorm hit the remote back side of the O Circuit in Torres del Paine National Park, Chile.
Five international hikers tragically lost their lives to extreme cold and winds over 190 km/h. Among them were hikers from Mexico, Germany, and the UK (including Victoria Bond from Cornwall).
Four others from the group were rescued alive.
Patagonia never forgives underestimation.

Even in late spring, weather here can turn deadly in minutes.
The full O Circuit has now been closed until further notice.
My deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who didn’t make it home.

To everyone planning Patagonia trips:

✅ Check forecasts obsessively (Windy, Meteoblue, CONAF alerts)
✅ Carry proper cold-weather gear, even if the forecast looks “ok”
✅ Register your trek and consider a PLB/satellite device
✅ Turn back if conditions deteriorate — the mountain will always be there

Travel Itinerary:

Europe to Ushuaia, Argentina.

This is an example from Paris.

Anyway you will need a connection flight.

1. Flight from Paris to Buenos Aires, Argentina Most flights from Paris to Ushuaia require a connection in Buenos Aires. Airlines: Air France, Iberia, and Lufthansa have frequent options from Paris to Buenos Aires (Ezeiza – EZE), with stops in Madrid, Frankfurt or other European cities, depending on the route.

Average flight duration: around 14 hours direct flight to Buenos Aires (not including connection time).

2. Connection Buenos Aires to Ushuaia.

From Buenos Aires, there are domestic flights to Ushuaia operated mainly by Aerolíneas Argentinas and LATAM .
Airports: Changing from Ezeiza Airport (EZE) to Jorge Newbery Airport (AEP) for domestic flights is generally required.

Average flight duration: approximately 3 and a half hours.

Trekking de média a alta dificuldade. São percorridos 14 km de trilhas selvagens. Subida de 600 metros ao Glaciar Vinciguerra passando pela Lagoa Tempanos e voltando pelo mesmo caminho.

Trekking of medium to high difficulty. 14 km of wild trails are covered. 600 meter climb to the Vinciguerra Glacier passing through the Tempanos Lagoon and returning along the same route.

Um sábado caminhando e pedalando do Leme ao Leblon.

Com um inverno de 22ª.

O circuito W, tem aproximadamente 75 km, trilhando o incrível Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, no sul do Chile, e leva esse nome porque a trilha forma a letra W.
Este trekking pode ser feito entre 4-5 dias, onde você pode pernoitar em barracas ou nos refúgios , onde o conforto é pago em dólares.
