The Shaggy's Fishing Team The Shaggy’s Fishing Team was formed in 2012 when Ron Ladner purchased the 50’ Hatteras Sport Fisherman and named her “Cheeseburger”.

The core of the team is: Ron, founder/owner of Shaggy’s Restaurants; and Rimmer Covington, Owner-CLOG Marine, former charter boat captain, and Shaggy’s co-owner. In 2016, The Cheeseburger was upgraded with the purchase of the 60 Sculley Sportfish powered by C-32 CATs. Shaggy's Fishing Team will fish the Dominican Republic on the Cheeseburger most of next year, and fun/tournament fishing in the gulf on the Cheeseburger and our 32' See Vee.

Last month, the story of how we built Shaggy’s Cheeseburgers released! It’s not just a story about a restaurant, it’s a picture of what happens when tragedy strikes and how to build in community from the ground up.

Moving from professional services to the restaurant industry, I immediately noticed a big difference in the workforce’s profile. I realized over time that no matter who they are, if you see and treat people like they are gifted and special, they will become gifted a special. If you treat them as underachievers, they will become under performers.

It comes down to how people are treated. It’s the only way for us to create a professional culture. We have to see and treat our people as professionals.
