Whats the difference between Cuban Salsa and Crossbody salsa?

Cuban Salsa is danced in a circular motion, with the male dancer typically in the middle and the female dancers dancing around the male dancer on the outside. Compared to a male dancer, it allows the female dancer more freedom of movement. It allows for greater improvisation to other Afro-Cuban dances, such the Rumba.

Crossbody is danced on a line. The "cross-body lead," in which the dancers are faced-to-face with one another, is the most crucial element of cross body. L.A. style and N.Y./Mambo style are the two subcategories of the Cross Body. On1 and On2 are other names for them. L.A. style is also known on1 because you emphasise or make the first (and fifth) beat more noticeable. N.Y./Mambo is different in that you emphasise the second (and sixth) beat while dancing to conga drums. Because of this, N.Y./Mambo is also known as On2. The rhythmic beats of the congas in N.Y./Mambo give the dancers the impression that they have more time and a smoother flow.
