The Salus Project would like to thank everyone that attended the opening night of "The Evolution of the Arc" open call exhibition, and the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas - - for being a wonderful host and for their continued support.
The Salus Project's continued mission of bridging the practices of health and wellness with art, partnered with NAGB to present opportunities to local artists & continue the dialogue in our challenging times in relation to our governance, ecological & economic sustainability, and social implications post Hurricane Dorian, as well as the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, while fostering community and networking.

Most of all congratulations and thank you to the amazingly talented artists that submitted and were selected.

It’s that time again! Your favourite art museum is about to debut two new exhilarating exhibitions. The 8th iteration of the Double Dutch series, featuring Tamika Galanis and Rodell Warner, along with the Open Call “Evolution of the Arc” artists (curated by Deime Ubani), will offer moments of deference, criticality and most importantly, hopefulness, for all to enjoy. The opening ceremony begins promptly at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas.

Please note that proof of vaccination is required and admission into exhibition spaces will be closely monitored in adherence to COVID-19 emergency protocols.

“Evolution of the Arc” is an Open Call Exhibition, a partnership between The Salus Project and the NAGB. With the shared goal of welcoming the wider artistic community into the museum for conversation and exchange, we invite proposals that seek to inspire, critique, uplift and offer space for contemplation and representation. This Arc, which offers reference to our archipelago, is our chance to consider the past and present, and build out ideas for a new future with healing in mind.

Participating in the arts can also help with depression, increase positive emotions and, in some cases, even improve immune system functioning. And, if you create art within a group setting, you can form supportive relationships and friendships.
