We are so ecstatic to announce that PappaSurf will be reopening again for all of your paddleboard needs and more! We are committed to encouraging the surf and beach lifestyle, focusing on the beauty of the Bahamas while seeking ways to enjoy it through health and fitness activities.

We are starting back with our beginner paddleboard lessons every Saturday from 10am until 12pm in the Delaport beach area (across from Nesbitts). We will also have board rentals available.

Group lessons start at $55 per person.

SUP Tip:

Paddle with your core and legs, not just your arms. This may sound a little weird at first, but paddling is best done by your core. These are the strongest muscles of your body and provide the most effective power for your paddle stroke. You also want to keep your legs slightly bent to provide stability. Standing up straight while only using your arms to paddle will generate very little power.

SUP TIP:

Use sunscreen, a wetsuit or a rashguard to protect your skin. In tropical climates (or anywhere you're exposed to the sun for that matter), sunburn can occur within 15 minutes. Try a waterproof SPF 30-50.

SUP TIP:

Know your ability level and do your best to SUP in zones designated for standup paddling. Or better yet, paddle to a lesser-known (usually less-popular) break. Beginners should never paddle out into a crowded lineup filled with prone surfers and/or boogie boarders. SUPing well is about experience.
