Drungkhag Administration, Dorokha

Last but not the least, farewell to Ten long years of service in rural Dorokha Drungkhag.
Wishing incoming Drungpa Kinley Dorji a happy stay and a fruitful tenure.

The inauguration of complete POL station at Basentay, Dorokha is held today. The honourable Minister, MOEA graced the inugautation event as a chief guest.

Today on 30th December 2022 the drungkhag tender comittee has taken over 200 bedded boys hostel for Dorokha CS and 12 unit classroom for Dorokha LSS from the contractor and handed over to the respective schools.
The boys hostel has all the modern amenities like room heating and cooling systems, geysers for the bathroom, adequate toilets and urinals for every rooms, separate rooms for the sick and a matron's residence. The construction works were awarded to Z&K construction and Druk Tshenden construction respectively.

The 2 days cultural and food festivals held in Dorokha on 26th and 27th December 2022 concluded successfully.

Waste turn into egg trays With the number of poultry farms increasing in Samtse, the demand for egg trays was high. Hasta Man Rai, 32, himself a poultry farmer, saw an opportunity. So he collected waste to produce egg trays.

It is incredibly heartening to learn that the youths undergoing training in home appliances repair have already fixed the following appliances which would have otherwise ended up in the trash or would have cost the owners a lot of money due to non availability of services center in and around Dorokha.

50 rice cookers
40 water boilers
15 curry cookers
15 electric heaters
3 microwave oven
3 washing machines
3 TV screen
3 geysers

N.B.(As evident in the pictures most of the appliances were broken down almost 5 to 10 years back.)

After a month long training all the graduates will have to open a repair shops in groups or individually anywhere in the country.

The training is being funded by the MOLHR office in Phuntsholing and Samtse Dzongkhag and coordinated by Dorokha Drungkhag focusing on the upskilling of out of School youths for self sustainability.
