As we wrap up our journey here for now Congratulations to all the teams who made it this far. We had our own share of emotions, we learn so much and had a good experience competing to this level. We will come back more organised and well prepared to compete to this level next time. All the best to the teams reaching the knockout round.

Druk Lhayul tops the group

The last match of group a finish today and Druk Lhayul and Paro Fc qualifies for the semifinal.

Although Fc Youngster failed to win any matches but they played with heart and put decent performance against the elite clubs in the country. The fact that Fc Youngtser without proper coach, training and management to face confidently against big established clubs is very commendable and encouraging.

Both the goals for Druk Lhayul were scored in first half, Ugyen Tenzin broke the deadlock at 32 minutes and Sonam Wangyel scored the second goal at 36 minutes. But Fc youngster manage to cut down the deficit at the last minute of the match by Zeedane Dorji but by then it was too late for any come back.
Druk Lhayul will face either Transport United or Sherbutse in the semi.

Sonam Wangyel was awarded man of the match.

Gutted it’s going to be our last match of this wonderful Bhutan Football Federation presidents cup. Would love to have stayed bit longer. Anyways we will work hard and come back stronger in future. As of now Let’s focus on our next Druk Lhayul FC . Let’s go YFC 💪

Easy sail for UA boys

UA Fc sealed the first victory of the tournament against the local home club Fc youngster 3-0 today. Fc youngster bows out of the tournament with straight second defeat but they will face Druk Lhayul in their last match.

It was very surprising to see that the local amateur club putting up a good fight against the established and elite clubs in the country. Defending was up to mark but failed to convert the chances they created.

UA broke the deadlock at 22 minutes when left defender Tandin Dorji found the ball back of the net. The first half was evenly matched, very physical and not many chances were created. Kinley Lhendup scored the second goal at 56th minutes and Tenzin scored the third goal at the end of 90+.

But the home team did manage to get a penalty kick which could have been a game-changer as UA was just leading by 2 goals. But UA goalkeeper Tenzin Dorji denied the goal and was awarded man of the match for his outstanding goalkeeping.
