28/04/26 Today we performed our azhing wai song. at Thimphu.
The song Azhang Gaway originates from the small village of Takchu under Mongar Dzongkhag. It is a unique cultural treasure that was once known only within that community. This beautiful song was later brought to life by the Luyang group Yangchen Lugar based in Paro. Through their heartfelt performance and dedication, the song has now gained popularity across different parts of the country and is being performed and appreciated by many.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the people of Takchu village for sharing this precious song and giving Yangchen Lugar the opportunity to introduce it to a wider audience. Because of this, we are able to celebrate and preserve this truly unique piece of our cultural heritage for future generations.
