The AVC International Referee Candidate Course begins today, with our National Referee proudly representing Bhutan. Wishing them a successful learning journey and the very best in achieving international standards.

Bhutan Volleyball Federation is pleased to share that our National Referees, Pema Dorji and Subash Darjee, are traveling to Jakarta, Indonesia to attend the AVC International Referee Candidate Course from 1st to 7th May.

This opportunity marks an important step in strengthening our officiating standards and developing internationally qualified referees for Bhutan. We wish them a successful learning experience and look forward to their valuable contributions to the growth of volleyball in the country.

Our men’s beach volleyball team proudly represented Bhutan at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China.

Tshering Dorji and Jurme Randal competed with great determination against some of Asia’s strongest teams, gaining valuable experience and exposure on the international stage.

Match Results:
• Vs China: 0–2 (12–21, 11–21)
• Vs Syria: 1–2 (21–13, 13–21, 9–15)
• Vs Iran: 0–2 (9–21, 9–21)
• Vs Sri Lanka: 0–2 (15–21, 16–21)

Despite not advancing to the Round of 16, the team showed resilience and fighting spirit especially in their strong win in the opening set against Syria and pushing the match to a deciding set.

Facing top-ranked teams like China and Iran provided a valuable learning platform, and these experiences will undoubtedly strengthen our players for future competitions.

We are proud of their effort, dedication, and sportsmanship. This is just another step forward in Bhutan’s growing journey in international beach volleyball. The future looks bright.
