SECOND BATCH OF WINTER COACHING PROGRAM BEGINS! (2026)
As of January 9, 2026, second batch of Winter Coaching Program has commenced!
This batch id divided onto two levels: Basic and Intermediate.
Basic group, comprising of 15 girls and 14 boys, attends sessions from 10 am to 1 pm and focus on building a strong foundation in badminton fundamentals.
The intermediate group, consisting of 17 boys and 8 girls, has coaching from 2 pm to 5 pm, aiming to enhance their skills and techniques further. In total 54 participants are part of this batch, and it is excited to see their hard work and interest. Best wish to all the participants and all the best in their training journey!

Bhutan Badminton Federation is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Basic Coaching Program, held from December 8, 2025, to January 7, 2026.
The program concluded smoothly on January 7, 2026, with great enthusiasm, full engagement, and enjoyment from all participants with 40 girls, 55 boys, and 95 in total. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative. We look forward to continuing this momentum and fostering the growth of badminton in Bhutan.

The first-ever International Youth Badminton Coaching Camp organized by the Office of the District Sports Officer, Dibrugarh, Government of Assam concluded successfully in Dibrugarh, Assam, held from 22 December 2025 to 2 January 2026. The camp provided comprehensive training and competition exposure for participating athletes.
Following the camp, the 1st International Inter-School Badminton Championship 2026 was conducted from 3 to 5 January 2026, with over 300 players from Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India competing across multiple categories.
Notable achievements include a Bronze Medal by Yangchen Dolkar in the Under-17 Girlsโ Singles category and a Quarter-Final finish by Pema Tenzin in the Under-19 Boysโ Singles category.
The federation extends sincere appreciation to the organizers for their excellent support and arrangements, and conveys special thanks to Amlan Bhattacharjee, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Dinesh Chaudhry (India), International Coach, How Kian Hoe (Malaysia), International Coach, Narinder Sing (India), Coach and all the supporting staff for their invaluable guidance towards the Bhutanese players.
The federation also conveys its deep gratitude to the Bhutan Olympic Committee for its continued support towards athlete development and international exposure programs.

The Bhutan Badminton Federation has sent a squad of eight playersโfour boys and four girlsโto undergo an training camp in Dibrugarh, Assam District, India, as part of an exchange training programme. The team is accompanied by two coaches, Coach Norbu Dradhul and Coach Kinley Wangmo.
The training camp is being conducted from 22 December 2025 to 31 December 2025, followed by a tournament from 1 to 4 January 2026. During the camp, players are training across various aspects of performance, including technical skills, physical conditioning, tactical development, and match exposure.
The camp features more than 100 participants from Bhutan, India, Maldives, and Sri Lanka, providing Bhutanese players with valuable opportunities to gain international exposure and experience different playing styles.
Following the Dibrugarh programme, the team will proceed to a second exchange training camp in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from 6 to 17 January 2026, continuing their trainings.

Today, the Bhutan Badminton Federation, joined by the Secretary General of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, officials from the Bhutan Paralympic Committee, the Principal of Gesarling Central School, coaches, and para-athletes, proudly welcomed the Bhutan Paralympic Team at the airport.
The occasion celebrated the remarkable achievement of Cheyang Kuenchap, who clinched a bronze medal at the Asian Youth Para Games, as well as Ugyen Sonam Choden, who made her international debut with great dedication and determination.
Their commitment and perseverance continue to inspire us all and reaffirm our collective support for para-athletes and the growth of inclusive sports in Bhutan.

We are proud to share that Cheyang Kuenchap has secured a Bronze Medal at the ongoing Asian Youth Para Games in Dubaiโan incredible milestone that highlights his bright and promising future in para badminton.
Cheyang showcased remarkable determination and strength throughout the tournament. Despite his powerful performance, he narrowly missed a spot in the finals after a tough match against Yeonghun Noh of South Korea, with scores of 13โ21, 16โ21.
This achievement stands as a testament to Cheyangโs talent and hard work. The federation extends heartfelt congratulations to Cheyang Kuenchap, Coach Dorji, and the entire team for their outstanding effort.
Behind his success lies the unwavering support of many institutions and individuals. We sincerely thank the Bhutan Paralympic Committee, Bhutan Olympic Committee, Gesarling Central School, Dagana Dzongkhag Education, Department of Education Program under Ministry of Education and Skill Development for their continued support and guidance. Today marks the conclusion of the Basic and Cluster Training Camp for Empowering Women Through Badminton, which began on 1st December 2025. A total of 20 participants took part in this meaningful program.
Over the past days, the participants learned essential badminton skillsโincluding basic footwork, grip techniques, strokes, and on-court movement. They also received guidance on rules, scoring, match play, teamwork, and confidence-building, helping them grow both as players and as future community leaders in the sport.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this camp a success!
