The Bhutan Badminton Federation is pleased to announce that the Prospectus for the Open Badminton Championship 2026 is now available.

We warmly invite badminton players from Bhutan and around the world to participate in this exciting championship, which will be held in Thimphu, Bhutan, from 9–12 September 2026.

The tournament prospectus, including categories, eligibility, entry procedures, registration deadlines, travel information, and other important details, is attached for your reference.

𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨

Participants from countries requiring a visa to enter Bhutan are requested to confirm their participation well before the registration deadline to allow the Bhutan Badminton Federation sufficient time to process the necessary visa clearances and supporting documentation.

Late confirmations or submissions received close to the registration deadline may not provide adequate time for visa processing. The Bhutan Badminton Federation shall not be responsible for any delays or inability to secure visas resulting from late confirmation or incomplete documentation.

We look forward to welcoming players, officials, and badminton enthusiasts to Bhutan for an exciting tournament and an unforgettable experience.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫!

Our National Junior player, Mr. Tandin Y. Sonam, has successfully completed the Asia Olympic Program (AOP) Training Camp conducted by Badminton Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 20 June to 6 July 2026.

Tandin was one of 15 promising junior athletes representing 15 different Asian countries, selected to participate in this prestigious development program. Throughout the camp, he had the opportunity to train under experienced international coaches, enhance his technical and tactical skills, and gain valuable exposure alongside some of Asia's most talented young badminton players.

The Federation extends its sincere appreciation to Badminton Asia for providing this excellent opportunity to support the development of young athletes across the region.

𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐨

The Bhutan Badminton Federation is pleased to conduct a Basic Badminton Coaching Program in Paro from 1–30 July 2026, aimed at introducing the fundamentals of badminton and encouraging greater participation in the sport.

A total of 22 participants are taking part in the program, comprising 11 male and 11 female participants. The month-long coaching program is being led by Mr. Norbu Dradhul, a BWF Level 2 Coach, who is guiding participants through the basic techniques, skills, and values of badminton.

The Bhutan Badminton Federation extends its sincere gratitude to Badminton Asia for its generous support in making this program possible. Such initiatives continue to play a vital role in developing grassroots badminton and inspiring more young people to take up the sport.
