It is exam season now and all Judo members are 100% focused on their studies! During this time, our coaches have the opportunity to brush up their own skills and learn new things. Sensei Shoki (5 dan), is presently conducting a Kata Seminar for all our coaches including our candidates from GMC!

Kata means ‘form’, and the purpose is to perfect one’s form. Slow repetitions of the perfect form build muscle memory, perfect posture and help achieve mastery of the discipline. This builds the best foundation for kumite, or actual fighting.

During this seminar, the candidates will learn 5 different Judo kata.

Tashi Delek to Tenzin Dorji for winning Silver in the -100kg category at the Champions Judo Tournament in Nepal today!

The matches of Rohan and Tenzin today. Rohan lost his first match by shimewaza while Tenzin won all his matches to reach the final.

In the most awaited final of the day at -100kg, Tenzin lost but only in golden score. Congratulations on the Silver!

Rohan is clearly getting better and more confident, but with just 2 international events under his belt, he is still in the process of gaining experience and exposure.
