The National Open Water Swimming Team made its footprint at the Mauritius Open Water Championships on 6-7 June 2026, raising the flag high against strong international competition.
Benco got 3rd for Zone IV in the 5k open water for his age.

Botswana Set to Host Zone IV Swimming Championships – September 2026
Botswana Swimming is proud to announce that Botswana will host the CANA Zone IV Swimming Championships in September 2026.
Over 14 countries from the Southern Africa region are expected to compete, making this one of the largest aquatics events on the local calendar.
The championships will bring together top junior and senior swimmers in pool and open water events. This is a key development opportunity for our athletes and a chance for Botswana to showcase its capacity to host major sporting events.
