SCHOOL SPORTS TO RETURN IN JANUARY 2024-Minister Rakgare

Minister of Youth,Sports,Gender and Culture Tumiso Rakgare has promised that school sports will return in 2024.

Rakgare told a kgotla meeting in Bobonong today that he is to meet with all stakeholders that includes Teachers Unions to conclude the matter." I promise you that I will fight in every way possible to make sure that school sports returns in January" he said.

However, this is not the first time that Rakgare promised the return of school sports. In March 9 2020 he promised that the halt was just temporary and that it was going to return soon.Although school sports was stopped before Covid 19 Rakgare claimed at the Bobonong meeting that school sports was stopped because of Covid.

School sports was stopped by Rakgare's Ministry about 4 years ago with the intention to review how it could be better run.A task force was then appointed to do the review. The task force's results are yet to be revealed.
