TEN COUNTRIES. ONE HOST CITY. ONE REGIONAL COMMITMENT.

The next phase of the Maputo 2026 Joint Mission brings together the Chefs de Mission representing the ten Region 5 Member Countries.

Their role is critical: to assess the conditions awaiting their delegations, present their countries’ state of readiness and help resolve the operational questions that could affect athletes before and during the Games.

Together with the ROC, LOC and sports confederations, they will examine venues, accommodation, accreditation, transport, competition services and the overall athlete experience.

Different nations. Shared responsibility. One regional stage.

When the ten countries arrive, Maputo must be ready.

MAPUTO 2026 ENTERS A DECISIVE READINESS PHASE

The road to the Region 5 Youth Games has reached a decisive stage.

This week in Maputo, the Regional Organising Committee, Local Organising Committee and sports confederations are examining the systems that will determine the success of the Games — from accommodation, accreditation and venues to catering, ceremonies, finance and Games services.

This is not a ceremonial visit. It is a working mission to test readiness, identify gaps, assign responsibility and accelerate delivery.

Every detail matters. Every decision counts.

Maputo is preparing. Region 5 is coming.
