🇧🇼 ICU Africa Cheerleading Championships 2026 | Pretoria, South Africa 🇿🇦

On 4 July 2026, Team Botswana proudly took to the competition floor at the ICU Africa Cheerleading Championships in Pretoria, representing our nation with passion, determination, and unwavering national pride.

This championship was more than a competition- it was a celebration of resilience, teamwork, discipline, and the remarkable growth of cheerleading in Botswana. Every routine performed, every stunt executed, and every moment shared on the mat reflected months of dedication, sacrifice, and countless hours of training.

We are incredibly proud of the athletes who carried our flag with honor:

✨ Senior Team – University of Botswana
✨ Junior Team – Ms Kay’s Cheerleading Team
✨ Youth Doubles – Junior Royals
✨ Youth Team – Lesedilapela Primary School

Together, these athletes showcased the incredible talent that Botswana continues to develop across every age category. Their performances demonstrated not only athletic excellence but also courage, sportsmanship, and the true spirit of unity.

To every athlete, coach, choreographer, parent, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter-thank you. Your commitment made this journey possible, and your belief in these athletes continues to shape the future of cheerleading in Botswana.

While medals are always worth celebrating, the greatest achievement is seeing Botswana represented on the continental stage, inspiring the next generation of athletes to dream bigger and work harder. Every competition is another step forward as we continue building a stronger, more competitive cheerleading community.

As we reflect on the memories made in Pretoria, we celebrate every highlight, every challenge overcome, and every moment that reminded us what it means to wear the Botswana colors with pride.

UB Cheerleading team gave an impressive performance at the CUCSA opening ceremony on Monday, they were met by loud cheers from the crowd and fellow athletes during performance, the federation is really proud of how much effort they put in making sure they deliver a stunning act.

Our Cheerleaders continue to demostrate that the Sport of Cheer is fun and blends in with other sporting activities by providing entertainment and help with raising awareness during campaigns, launches and promotions. Life Spectrum Cheerleading team did exactly that during one of the The Grand Prix activations in Gaborone recently.

This past Saturday The Rowdys from University of Botswana represented the big code at the Continental Reinsurance 5 Aside games held under the auspices of Ba Isago College, they truly lit 🔥 up the moment for the audience with unforgettable performances 🥳🥳🥳

The entire Cheer Community woke up to the sad news of the passing of the ICU President and modern cheer founder Jeff Webb may everyone affected by this find comfort in the LORD and may the soul of our father rest in eternal Peace 🙏

Unfortunate news to share. The President of the International Cheer Union, Jeff Webb has passed away following complications after an accident. The founder of modern cheerleading, he spent his life building the sport he loved and advocating for young people everywhere. More information to follow in the coming days. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the entire global cheer community.
