Just Arrived from Jo'burg after dropping off Naledi this morning at OR Tambo, on her trip to Antananarivo, Madagascar (No early Saturday morning flights from GC) - left for Jo'burg last night. She is participating in the 2019 Africa Zone 4.3 Senior Individual Chess Championships. Crazy trip - two tyre punctures yesterday (Ke a loiwa for sure! - Bakhurutshe!), the last one just before departing - left the car at Avani after the Mechanic failed to fix the puncture. Had to borrow my wife's car, turns out the car registration had expired - found out when I was stopped by SA police on my way back! The parting (with Naledi) was painful, as usual - couldn't even remember to snap a pic! Spent a couple of hours at OR Tambo afterwards, at least I got to grade a few mid-term exam papers for my students and catch up on the World Chess Federation Medical Commission stuff. Painful and lonely trip back to GC! Good News is that Naledi WON her first game this afternoon!
