Hello, Friends! As promised, we're back with a new event! As you recall, our Father's Day Event was postponed due to bad weather. Our new date, new location, and new event still has the same focus, but with an extra, added treat! On the day, we'll observe the INTERNATIONAL WUSHU FEDERATION'S WORLD WUSHU AND GUNG FU DAY, and still honor the Fathers and Sons within our community. As this global event becons participation from everyone, the event is now opened to the general public, so families...Men, Women, Boys and Girls... are all encouraged to attend! Let's come out, have fun, participate in the activities and workshops, and leave with a sense of better health, wellness, and confidence. Reluctantly, our Father's Day Event was postponed, due to the unexpected and very harsh, inclement, rainy, cold Winter Weather that we experienced here in Botswana this June. But not to worry, as we are already looking at dates in August to bring to you this AMAZING and much-needed event! Aside from being a most auspicious and introspective day for us all here on the Continent and Worldwide, as it is the Day of the African Child, it, too, is of equal reverence and importance that we also celebrate the 9th Year Anniversary and "Birthday" of the International Gung Fu and Healing Center, Botswana. Registered on this day, June 16th in 2017 with the Botswana Registrar of Societies, our organization has thrived and prospered through both turbulent and triumphant times as we've continued to actively seek out, identify, nurture and develop the country's finest young athletes in the field of Chinese Martial Sciences. We continue this push forward through our programs of community outreach in gender-based violence awareness and eradication through our Gontse Movement, and our Male Mentorship Programs with local schools, in partnership with other community stakeholders. As Founder and Head Instructor of our Kwoon, I wish us a very "Happy Birthday" and 9th Year Anniversary.
