Meet the Umpires of the 7th Edition of the Find The Ball Netball Tournament.

Behind every great netball tournament is a team of exceptional match officials. As we conclude our series introducing some of the continent's finest umpires, we are proud to unveil the full panel of Category A and Category B Umpires who will officiate at the 7th Edition of the Find The Ball Netball Tournament.

This year's tournament has assembled an outstanding group of officials from Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Zambia, bringing together a wealth of international and continental experience. Collectively, they have officiated at the Africa Netball Cup, World Netball Youth World Cup Africa Qualifiers, COSANA Championships, League matches and numerous international test matches across Africa and beyond.

Their presence is a reflection of the growing stature of Find The Ball as one of Southern Africa's premier club netball tournaments. World-class players deserve world-class officiating, and the quality of this panel guarantees that every match will be managed with professionalism, integrity and consistency.

𝗕𝗗𝗙 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 & 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗬 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞

The Botswana Defence Force Sporting Club's Annual Find The Ball Netball Tournament continues to prove that the true success of sport is measured not only by what happens on the court, but also by the positive impact it makes in the communities it touches.

On Tuesday, 30 June 2026, BDF Sporting Club Chairman Colonel Thekegelo Nelson Gabofiwe, accompanied by Executive Committee Member Colonel Tswelelopele Timothy Mothibi and members of the 2026 Find The Ball Local Organising Committee, presented a P5,000 cheque to Mogoditshane Senior Secondary School. The donation fulfils the tournament's commitment towards the school's annual Prize Giving Ceremony.

The presentation follows the successful Legacy Project undertaken during the 6th Edition of Find The Ball, where the Centre of Excellence hosted the tournament in their state of the art facilities. As a way of giving back, the Local Organising Committee carried out a number of maintenance and improvement works at the school. The value of these works was quantified at approximately P48,000 and included repairs to dormitory doors, installation of new locks, drainage maintenance, electric and general repairs, cleaning and clearance of the school grounds, together with the deployment of specialised personnel to complete these tasks.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of School Head Mr Mpaphi Kuswane, Deputy Headmaster Mr Thatayaone Mokwakwa, accompanied by Head of Department Mrs Precious Letsatle, described the partnership as a powerful example of how collaboration builds stronger communities. He said the support extended by the Botswana Defence Force Sporting Club and the Find The Ball Tournament motivates learners and inspires them to believe that hard work and commitment can open doors to greater opportunities.

Mr Mokwakwa also expressed pride in seeing former Mogoditshane Senior SS learners Chenesani Babra Mbangiwa, Wame Mafokate and Ketshephaone Kabelo return to their former school as players of BDF Cats Netball Club. Having begun their journey at the School of Excellence before progressing through the BDF XI Development pathway, the trio now compete at the highest level of local netball. Their achievements, he said, are evidence of Government's vision in establishing schools of excellence where education and sport go hand in hand.

As preparations gather momentum for the 7th Edition of the Find The Ball Netball Tournament, the organisers remain committed to ensuring that every edition leaves a meaningful legacy. For Find The Ball, success is not only about producing champions on the court, but also about investing in people, strengthening communities and creating opportunities that will endure long after the final whistle.
