2016 ICF Junior & U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships

The IX World University Canoe Sprint Championship, which is organized under the aegis of International University Sports Federation (FISU), will take place in the city of Zaslavl from 21 to 23 August 2020. National Center of Olympic training for rowing will be the competition venue.
More than 400 representatives of the university sports from 24 countries will participate in the Championship: Belarus, Australia, Argentina, China, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Spain, Estonia, Finland, France, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Japan, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Slovakia, Ukraine, the USA.
Russia is expected to join the participants.
The Belarusian team has 22 athletes.
According to the technical regulations, 34 judges will serve the competitions, 24 of them are the representatives of the Republic of Belarus. The athletes will compete for 28 sets of medals.

IX чемпионат мира среди студентов по гребле на байдарках и каноэ, организуемый под эгидой Международной федерации студенческого спорта (FISU), пройдет в Заславле с 21 по 23 августа 2020 года. Базой для проведения турнира станет Республиканский центр олимпийской подготовки по гребным видам спорта.
Участие в чемпионате примут более 400 представителей студенческого спорта из 24 стран: Беларуси, Австралии, Аргентины, Китая, Китайского Тайбэя, Хорватии, Чехии, Кипра, Испании, Эстонии, Финляндии, Франции, Великобритании и Северной Ирландии, Германии, Венгрии, Ирана, Италии, Японии, Польши, Португалии, ЮАР, Словакии, Украины, США.
Ожидается, что к участникам также присоединится команда России.
В составе белорусской команды — 22 спортсмена.
Согласно техническому регламенту соревнования будут обслуживать 34 судьи, 24 из которых — представители Республики Беларусь. Всего в ходе чемпионата будет разыграно 28 комплектов медалей.

Hleb Saladukha — аmbassador of the Championship, gold and silver medalist of the World Championships, three-time European champion, winner of the World University Canoe Sprint Championship (Minsk, 2014), bronze medalist of the Universiade (Kazan, 2013).

It is a great honor to be an ambassador of the Championship, which takes place in my country, — said Hleb Saladukha. — I was a member of the World University Championship, which was held in Belarus in 2014. And I’m glad, that we showed the highest level of its organizing. I am sure that a great sports base and professionalism of the organizers will let us to do so in 2020! This year, I am finishing my career in University Sports, and, of course, I hope to win. I want to see a fair contest between strong contestants!

World University Championships are invaluable sports experience. This is always a big celebration, an opportunity to make new friends, to get familiar with other cultures. Sport unites; it is the best diplomat for people from other corners of the planet!
