ATTENTION SAILING CLUBS! π§πΏ
The Belize Sailing Association has been invited to participate in an upcoming Summit, and we are looking for 2 athletes and 2 adults to represent sailing.
The 2 selected athletes will be involved in both a dedicated session with our Guest of Honour, Ms. Marion Jones, and a session with the SYNEK consultants.
We will also have a sailing booth, where we will showcase our sport through flyers, information about sailing and the different parts of a boat, knot-tying demonstrations, and other fun, interactive activities.
If your club is interested in participating, please let us know and confirm by Friday August 21st.
Let's showcase sailing and get more people excited about our sport! π§πΏβ΅

The 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games have come to an end, and we proudly congratulate **Trent Hardwick** on his performance in Punta Salinas, Dominican Republic.
Trent finished **9th overall** in a highly competitive ILCA fleet, representing Belize with determination, discipline, and pride. Throughout the regatta, he faced a variety of conditions and gave his best in every race, showcasing the resilience and commitment that have become hallmarks of his sailing career.
The Belize Sailing Association is incredibly proud of Trent's efforts and the way he represented our country on the international stage. Every competition is an opportunity to learn, grow, and prepare for the next challenge, and we have no doubt this experience will continue to strengthen his journey.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the **Belize Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association** for their continued support of Team Belize and our national sailing programme. Thank you also to Trent's coach, family, sponsors, and everyone who has supported him throughout this campaign.
Well done, Trent! Belize is proud of you. π§πΏβ΅

Yesterday at the CAC Games in Punta Salinas, racing took place in 12β20 knot winds. Trent Hardwick finished 10th in both races and is currently sitting 9th overall.
While the results weren't what we were hoping for, there are still races to be sailed. Today is a rest day before competition resumes tomorrow, giving everyone a chance to regroup and come back ready to fight for every position.
Today, Team Sailing is taking a break from racing to support Team Basketball as they battle for the bronze medal! π§πΏπβ΅
Thank you to everyone for your continued support. Go Team Belize! π§πΏβ΅

**β΅ Ladyville Olympic Day Sailing Regatta 2026 β΅**
Ladyville proudly hosted the **2026 Olympic Day Sailing Regatta** on **Sunday, June 28**, in the beautiful waters of **Ladyville Bay**, north of Vista Del Mar. The event brought together some of Belize's finest young sailors for a day of exciting competition and sportsmanship.
Six races were sailed in both the **Laser** and **Optimist** fleets on a windward/leeward course featuring two loops for each race. Sailors enjoyed near-perfect conditions, with steady winds of **5β8 knots** that began from the east before gradually backing to the northeast, creating excellent racing throughout the day.
The regatta welcomed competitors from **Placencia Sailing Club** and **Corozal Sailing Club**, whose top sailors traveled to Ladyville to compete in one of Belize's most unique inland sailing venues. Racing followed the **short-course format** that will be featured at the **2028 Olympic Games**, delivering fast-paced action, more races, and exciting competition closer to shore for spectators to enjoy.
The Ladyville Olympic Day Regatta celebrated not only athletic excellence but also the Olympic values of friendship, respect, and excellence. We thank all participating sailors, coaches, volunteers, race officials, families, sponsors and supporters who helped make this event a success.
Congratulations to all competitors, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Ladyville for more exciting sailing in the future!
